This summer Milan is hosting its 10th annual Rhythm of the City – Ritmo della Città – Jazz Festival (June 18 – July 13), a festival meant to offer a comprehensive understanding of jazz in today’s world by hosting musicians from all over the globe including Sarah McKenzie, Vanessa Rubin, The Espen Berg Trio, Mike & Kate Westbrook, Antonella Ruggiero, and The Branford Marsalis Quartet. This festival will hold performances mostly in the Cittá Studi district, more specifically the Botanical Gardens on via Camillo Golgi. There will also be 3 seminars/workshops (by Joe Chambers, Cyro Baptista, & Vanessa Rubin) held in Villa Simonetta on varying topics including composition and orchestral percussion arrangement, vocal improvisation and innovation, and many more helpful tips of the trade for all of you fellow jazz enthusiasts.
The Rhythm of the City will be also a public invitation to participate in the fusion of yoga, with the beautiful setting of the Botanical Cittá Studi in Milan, with the sweet sounds of jazz music in the background. Last, but definitely not least, there will be The Rhythm in the Kitchen, which will be a cooking show and tasting of the products of the Botanical Garden of the Cittá Studi district, organized by La Cucina Verde (The Green Kitchen).
